Today’s Quick Japanese Phrase is:

★ The Japanese word for “sleepy” is 眠たい (ねむたい – nemutai)

★ If you want to say “I’m sleepy” you can say たい (nemutai) or たいです (nemutai desu). Adding です (desu) makes the sentence more formal.

★ You do not need to include the topic, 私 (watashi – I), because it is obvious from the context.

★ Another way to say “I’m sleepy” in Japanese is い (ねむい – nemui)

★ You can also say 疲れた (つかれた – tsukareta) – “I’m tired”

  1. I can’t think of what manga the blankets with the cat on it is from. I’ve read them all, I just can not remember. It’s something like “… book of friends” Right? Please let me know what it is.
