Sapporo Snow Festival 雪祭り

Do you know 雪祭り (Yuki Matsuri – Snow Festival) in Sapporo?♥

This festival happens every year in February, and it is one of the biggest events in Japan in the winter.

札幌 (Sapporo) is the biggest city in 北海道 (Hokkaido), Japan’s largest and northernmost prefecture.

Every year, they have hundreds of different snow statues, usually featuring characters from movies, etc. that were popular in the previous year.

They light up the statues at night.

Can you believe these buildings and statues are all made of snow?

Hatsune Miku has been one of the main stars of the Snow Festival these past few years. She’s even on this vending machine at the event!
